Guidelines/Issues For Teaching The Student Bill of Rights 1. Right To Learn 2. Safe Environment - dangerous playthings; sticks on playground - keeping walkways clear - respecting another person’s space 3. Right To Move - appropriate movement for lines, halls, lunchroom, classroom - cutting in line; pushing; hitting 4. Right Not To Be Touched - grabbing clothes; shoving; pushing; tripping - right not to be threatened or intimidated by another 5. Respect For Work - not making fun of work; not walking on or destroying other's work - not interrupting others - not sharing except by choice 6. Respect For Property - ruining clothes; school supplies; - damaging; stealing; rough play - throwing food 7. Right To Be Listened To - not interrupting - appropriate body language; eye contact 8. Right To Help In Turn - taking turns responsibly, especially in the use of AV equipment 9. Right To Feelings - name-calling; inappropriate body language - expressing feelings by not saying anything (angry body language) - treating other's feelings with respect - appropriate ways to express different feelings 10. Right To Opinions - Same as #9 - See above
