Using Anger Constructively

Subjects: Social Studies • Language Arts • Grade Levels: 3-12

Procedure:

Like conflict, anger can have constructive results for society. It has motivated social change and growth.

  • Have each student research one of the following people and report on what injustice angered them and the type of social action they were inspired to take. Other interesting questions concern what conflicts they encountered and how they responded.

· Have students locate newspaper accounts of people who are using their anger constructively and destructively.

  Discussion:

What is an issue in society that makes you angry?
