Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteer Opportunities:
In Conflict Management Services volunteers co-mediate in the following
areas: Truancy Prevention Through Mediation Program, parent/child mediation,
divorce mediation, other family mediation, roommate mediation, tenant/landlord
mediation, neighborhood mediation, and the police ride-along and crises
mediation outreach program. Volunteers also assist with two divorce
education programs, community education efforts, and basic clerical
work. Other volunteer opportunities in the agency include the 24-hour
crises line, 24-hour victim Outreach and Advocacy, Medical Clinic, and
Hallway House.

Insurance Coverage for Volunteer Mediators: Yes
Fee Structure for Services: Mediation involving
parents and their juvenile children are free to Portage County Residents
- however, donations are welcome. Neighborhood, roommate, or tenant/landlord
mediations are $15.00 per side of the dispute. Family mediation are
on a sliding fee scale based on income.
Training requirements and other qualifications for Volunteer Mediators: Training varies depending on service area. Preference given to those with Basic 12-16 hour mediation training. Mentoring/observation is part of the volunteer experience.
