Requires each local school shall begin an assessment of school safety and student discipline during the 1998-99 school year. The assessment should indicate the training needs for staff in classroom management and training needs for students in anger reduction, conflict resolution, peer mediation, and other necessary skills. Each board of education is required to adopt a plan for immediate and long-term strategies to address school safety. |
