Title:	Local Assessment of School Safety and School Discipline
Summary:	Requires each local school shall begin an assessment of school safety and student discipline during the 1998-99 school year. The assessment should indicate the training needs for staff in classroom management and training needs for students in anger reduction, conflict resolution, peer mediation, and other necessary skills. Each board of education is required to adopt a plan for immediate and long-term strategies to address school safety.

Requires the Kentucky Department of Education to ensure that training options in human resource management and conflict resolution techniques be available to education leaders throughout the state.
