Title: Education Equity Hate Violence Prevention Act
Summary: Purpose is to create a school environment in kindergarten through grade 12 that is free from discriminatory attitudes and practices and acts of hate violence. Provides for in- service training for teachers to prevent and respond to acts of hate violence. Calls for guidelines for the design and implementation of local programs that promote understanding, awareness, and appreciation of the contributions of people with diverse backgrounds.

Title: School Violence Reduction Programs
Summary: The enumerated goals of the grant program include teaching pupils techniques for resolving conflicts without resorting to the use of violence; training school staff and administrators to support and promote conflict resolution and mediation techniques for resolving conflicts among or between pupils; and providing pupils with after school programs that promote and utilize conflict resolution and mediation techniques as positive alternatives to delinquent behavior. The act also details the grant application process and the types of activities that qualify.

Summary: Allows the Superintendent of Public Instruction to award grants to school districts, who have conflict resolution programs geared toward reducing juvenile crime and delinquency.

Title: Community Violence Prevention and Conflict Resolution
Summary: Gives priority in funding to programs that include the imparting of conflict resolution skills.

Provides for staff development programs that promote educational equity. Programs shall examine ways for teachers to establish positive intercultural relations within the classroom by teaching positive conflict management and resolution.
