Consulting on Public Disputes
The Commission can help parties evaluate different options to address public issues, including the use of task forces, public meetings, mediation, facilitation and other techniques available to productively prevent and/or resolve disputes. Since 1991, Commission staff has consulted with a wide variety of public agencies and has facilitated public policy dialogues on matters including environmental, health and human services and the creation of administrative rules pursuant to legislation.
Dispute Systems Design
The Commision can assist organizations to design more effective procedural frameworks that address specific dispute resolution processes, such as complaint, grievance and appeals processes

Locating Facilitators and Mediators
The Commission provides mediation and facilitation services on a limited basis. In addition, the Commission can secure services from local mediation centers and impartial, professional service providers. For more information about public policy facilitators please contact the Commission .
Teaching
The Commission offers short courses on negotiation and dispute resolution, group facilitation and facilitative leadership. Session topics include, "Facilitation Skills for Local Government Officials", "Introduction to Public Dispute Resolution", and "Getting the Most Out of Collaborative Processes".
Resource Clearinghouse
The Commission can provide case summaries, role plays, directories, guidebooks and regularly compiles information from government officials nationwide to assist Ohio officials engaged in public policy dispute resolution.
